The Office of Fair Trading has published its decision on Monaghan Mushrooms’ acquisition of Sussex Mushrooms Ltd. Monaghan and Sussex grew fresh mushrooms and sold them and other growers’ mushrooms to U.K. grocery retailers, food service, and manufacturing customers.
After investigation, the OFT determined that Monaghan and Sussex were not close competitors, and that competition would remain significant for mushrooms after the merger.
