The Office of Fair Trading has announced it has cleared Anheuser-Busch InBev’s acquisition of Grupo Modelo. The deal has been a longstanding controversy in the beer market over fears the merger would create a monopoly beer giant and overrun smaller, independent brewers. The deal was proposed for $20.1 billion. The Office of Fair Trading has yet to release a full statement on the merger.
