La cadena de televisión CBS y el conglomerado mediático Viacom han revelado intenciones de una posible re-unificación, a casi 10 años de haber tomado vías separadas. Viacom compró a CBS en el año 2000, vendiendo su participación tan solo 6 años después como resultado de la estrategia de su entonces CEO, Sumner Redstone, quien buscaba llevar a Viacom hacia plataformas con un enfoque demográfico más joven, desdeñando el enfoque sobre medios tradicionales de CBS.
