Brazil: Boticário group bolstered by purchase of Vult cosmetics

Grupo Boticario has announced their purchase of Vult Cosmética, a Brazilian cosmetics and makeup company. The operation must still be reviewed by the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (CADE), before being finalized.

    Vult has been operating since 2004, with products sold in more than 35,000 points of sale throughout the country. “The addition of Vult helps complement our portfolio and strengthen our multi-brand and muli-channel businesses,” said Boticario Group President Artur Grynbaum.

    With the acquisition, Grupo Boticario becomes the second largest company in the cosmetics sector in Brazil, with 15% of the market and only surpassed by multinational Avon.
