Mexico: IFT issues new guidelines for concession hopefuls

Mexico’s telecommunications regulator, IFT, has published new General Guidelines for granting licenses in radio and telecommunications transmissions.

    Companies who wish to obtain a one-time license must first specify the type of license being solicited, whether it’s commercial, private or socially oriented. They must also prove to possess the technical, economic and judicial capabilities to exploit the license, as established by the guidelines.

    “The institute will analyse, evaluate and resolve any application for a One-time License within 60 days,” as stated in the guidelines.
