Denmark: Top telco considers Swedish expansion

Denmark’s largest telecommunications network operator TDC is reportedly considering an acquisition that would expand the company throughout the Nordic region, unnamed sources say.

    TDC is eyeing a purchase of Sweden’s cable company Com Hem, a deal that could be valued at up to $1.56 billion.

    The two companies had first discussed a potential merger earlier this year, but since Com Hem made its IPO last June, the discussions have heated up, the sources said.

    Com Hem is currently owned by EU private equity firm BC Partners. Both parties have declined to comment on the matter.
