Competition law firm Hausfeld is launching a new office in Brussels and has reportedly chosen an antitrust expert from Michelin Group Europe to lead the new opening.
According to reports, Laurent Geelhand will join Hausfeld after 16 years at Michelin to open the boutique’s new office in Belgium. While at Michelin the lawyer focused on antitrust matters, especially cartel infringement cases, say reports.
Hausfeld’s new office coincides with the European Parliament’s expected approval of a new effort that will allow companies claim damages in antitrust infringement cases. Geelhand said the new rules will likely lead to a new wave of private antitrust enforcement across the EU.
Hausfeld’s main office is in London.
