China: Freshfields antitrust chief switches to local Beijing firm

The former head of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s antitrust operations in China will reportedly join Chinese firm Fangda Partners in Beijing, reports say.

    Michael Han, currently based in Beijing with Freshfields, marks the second partner to leave the firm for Fangda in two years, according to reports. While a date has not been set for his start at Fangda, Han is expected to transfer to the new position in August or September of this year.

    Han had been at Freshfields since 2002. Before that, Han served at China’s Ministry of Commerce to focus on competition policy and cross-boarder merger can acquisition regulation.
