US: ABA event zeros-in on IP theft

    The ABA hosted the panel, “State AGS Target IP Piracy to Strengthen Fair Competition Among Manufacturers,” on Wednesday after several state attorneys general have launched litigation against patent-infringing companies.

    The event focused on software piracy, say reports, which is often a center for discussion as the behavior could give unfair competitive advantages to low-cost rivals that use the stolen intellectual property.

    The discussion was moderated by the co-founder of the National Association of Attorneys General’s Intellectual Property Task Force, Rob McKenna. McKenna also served as the former Washington Attorney General.
