Asia: US firm to boost double Asia presence with IP, antitrust offices

US law firm Winston & Strawn announced plans to strengthen its position within Asia through new offices in Taiwan and Singapore, according to reports.

    The Chicago based firm is looking to double its size in the region through the new offices, which will focus its intellectual property and antitrust business, among other areas. Reports say the Taiwan office will be opened early this year and focus on cases filed with the US International Trade Commission. Partner John Alison, who joined the firm last year from IP-specialist Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner, will head the Taiwan office.
