Pakistan: CCP raids compressed natural gas associations

Following reports the regulator would be cautious in pursuing an antitrust investigation, the Competition Commission of Pakistan has reportedly raided compressed natural gas associations’ premises and seized documents as part of a probe into the sector and whether the associations violated competition law by announcing a strike. A team assembled on Monday was given the go-ahead to conduct the search and inspection of associations that include All Pakistan CNG Association, CNG Dealers Association and CG Station Owner Association of Pakistan. Chairman of All Pakistan CNG Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha has said that his association did not announce a strike in Pakistan and that they are in full cooperation with the CCP.
