New Zealand: Commission decides to jointly announce copper wire, broadband pricing decisions

New Zealand’s Commerce Commission has delayed its announcement that will reveal the antitrust authority’s final decision on prices that Chorus can charge for its copper phone lines. The announcement will now be made at the same time as the Commission’s draft decision on broadband pricing. Both will now be made December 3. The Commission decided to delay both announcements and deliver them together because the pricing of copper wire directly affects the price for broadband service, stating that the joint-announcement will “provide a more complete picture” of what the pricing effects will mean for consumers.
