U.S.: Hesse named as acting chief of Antitrust Division

Renata Hesse has been announced as acting head of the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department, replacing the outgoing Joseph Wayland. The position announcement was made by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Hesse will act as chief until the position is permanently filled; Congress is currently in the process of approving – or denying – nominee William Baer, whose nomination has been cleared by the Senate Judiciary Committee last September.
