E.U.: EU, China agree to cooperate on solar photovoltaic market competition issues
Representatives of the European Union and the Chinese government have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU, CPI reported) to increase cooperation between the European Commission’s (EC) competition department and Chinese antitrust authorities. The MoU follows calls for dialogue from both German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, amid an EU investigation of potential dumping of solar photovoltaic (PV) products from China. The MoU creates a framework for cooperation between the EC and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and State Administration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC).
