EU Clears Acquisition Of Polenergia By Brookfield & Mansa

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Polenergia of Poland by Brookfield Asset Management (Brookfield) of Canada and Mansa Investments (Mansa) of Poland. Polenergia produces and sells energy and has related activities.

    Brookfield is an asset management firm focusing on property, renewable power, infrastructure and private equity. Mansa is a holding company of Ms Dominika Kulczyk who controls Polenergia. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the companies’ moderate combined market positions. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
