The European Commission is reportedly eyeing the joint venture between automobile refrigerant partners DuPont and Honeywell over concerns the tie-up violates antitrust laws.
Reports say the Commission announced Tuesday it is looking into a series of agreements made between the companies, which formed their partnership in 2010 to develop new vehicle air conditioning products following a change in standards in the EU.
DuPont says it complies with EU laws and denies any claims of anticompetitive conduct. Similarly, Honeywell dismissed the allegations as baseless, say reports.
But the Commission said that its preliminary findings suggest the firms may have limited product availability and development in violation of competition laws.
