Mr. Marc van der Woude (Netherlands) has been elected as President of the General Court of the European Union. His term started on September 27, 2019, and lasts until August 31, 2022.
He succeeded Mr Marc Jaeger, who had been President of the EU General Court since September 17, 2007. Marc van der Woude studied law at the University of Groningen and then at the College of Europe in Bruges.
Later, he was Academic Assistant and Professor, he worked as Rapporteur and Policy Coordinator in the Directorate-General for Competition of the Commission, Member of the Brussels Bar, Judge at the EU General Court, and since September 2016, also Vice-President at the Court. Moreover, he contributed to several academic publications and law books with his articles.
