Mexican law firm Gonzalez Calvillo has announced the addition of Patricio Martínez Osorio as counsel to the firm’s antitrust practice group.
Martínez Osorio joins the firm from Creel Abogados, where he was a partner.
“This lateral hire is important for us to keep enhancing our antitrust practice, particularly on the merger control front, where Patricio has very significant expertise and 15 years’ experience,” the law firm said in a statement.
“Patricio greatly complements our current antitrust team, comprised by a nine-member mix of former [antitrust regulator] COFECE officials and prosecutors, who focus their work on cartel behavior and abuse of dominance cases, highly skilled attorneys doing quantitative and qualitative analytic work, and experts in competition in regulated sectors, particularly energy and telecom,” the firm added.
“This move also responds to increased client demand towards Gonzalez Calvillo’s highly specialized antitrust services.”
In addition to Patricio’s solid antitrust and competition experience, which has been recognized by Chambers and Partners, Who’s Who Legal, and Best Lawyers, he has ample experience in data protection matters, including the implementation of GDPR-based frameworks by Mexican subsidiaries of global companies, as well as advising in corporate and commercial law, and real estate matters, the firm stated.
