Mayer Brown Adds Antitrust Partner In London

Mayer Brown announced the addition of Daniel Vowden as a partner in its Antitrust & Competition practice in London. With over 20 years of experience, including qualifications as an EEA lawyer, Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm, focusing on providing expert counsel to international clients on a wide range of EU and UK competition law matters.

Daniel Vowden, who joins Mayer Brown from Herbert Smith Freehills, has built a strong reputation as a trusted adviser in the field of antitrust and competition law. His expertise extends across various aspects of this legal landscape, including merger control, foreign direct investment controls, and cross-border deals that require regulatory approval.

His extensive experience also includes handling behavioral and advisory matters, with a specific focus on EU and UK cartel investigations. He has been particularly active in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, financial services, mining, technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT), and retail.

Furthermore, Daniel is a member of the Advisory Committee of the UK Law Society’s Competition Section, and he will begin his new role on November 1, 2023.
