
Tina Søreide has been appointed by the Norwegian Government as the new Director General of the Competition Authority. Søreide is currently a professor at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
Tina Søreide is currently a professor at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law at the Norwegian School of Economics and has a unique expertise in the intersection between law and economics. She holds a PhD in Economics and her academic work has particularly focused on corruption.
“The Norwegian Competition Authority shall contribute to the efficient use of our common resources by promoting competition to the benefit of consumers and businesses. With her strong professional background, extensive experience and broad network of contacts, I think Tina Søreide is the right candidate to lead the Norwegian Competition Authority in the coming years,” said Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre.
“The Competition Authority has an important function in society. It operates in an area that is both challenging and significant. I am looking forward to getting started and working with a solid organization,” said Tina Søreide.
