ShopBeacon, based on Apple’s iBeacon technology, allows retailers to recognize when Shopkick app users enter a Macy’s store. The technology then triggers discount, deals and rewards messages to appear on the Shopkick app whenever a customer enters the store.

Shopkick has not yet released a timeline for expanding the service beyond Macy’s, however, the app itself can be used at retailers such as Best Buy, JCPenney and Target.
