EU Commission Clears Acquisition Of IRI By H&F

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Information Resources, Inc. (‘IRI’) by Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners and its parallel funds, both of the US.

    IRI is active in retail measurement services. H&F is a global private equity firm, which is active in RMS through its portfolio company, NPD Group, also of the US.

    The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given its limited impact on the internal market. The transaction was examined under the normal merger review procedure.
