Brazil OKs Fox/Disney Deal

Brazil’s competition regulator CADE has approved Disney’s acquisition of Fox. The approval takes into account that Disney probably won’t be able to sell Fox Sports business in Brazil given the pandemic, and imposes some restrictions for the deal, CADE announced on its website.

    CADE stated that Disney has agreed to continue broadcasting sporting events on Fox Sports for three years or until contracts end. 

    Fox Sports channel will continue operating in Brazil until January 2022; after that, the company will broadcast soccer matches from South American league in another of its channels.
