US: DOJ NY antitrust lead joins BakerHostetler

    Martino, who has been at the DOJ for 17 years, will join the firm as a partner in New York, BakerHostetler stated in a September 5 press release.

    As head of the DOJ’s New York Antitrust Division, Martino oversaw numerous investigations into corporate price-fixing and bid-rigging schemes. He also pursued probes into individuals accused of colluding to fix prices. Martino served as the DOJ’s New York chief for five years. 

    Before joining the DOJ’s Antitrust Division, Martino worked in the US Attorney’s Office in Arizona as the chief of the Financial Crime and Public Integrity Section. There Martino oversaw securities and investment fraud cases as well as identify theft, money laundering, and other financial related crimes.

    Martino’s hire marks BakerHosteler’s second addition of a federal antitrust enforcer. The firm recently brought on Marc Schildkraut, the former assistant director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition.
