Spain: El Corte Inglés set to present merger with Bricor to shareholders

The board of directors of the symbolic Spanish brand El Corte Inglés has announced that it will propose a merger with the Bricor chain, which specializes in construction and home improvement products, during the general meeting of shareholders scheduled for next August 25.

    El Corte Inglés noted that the merger would seek to “improve and complement the commercial offer, while taking advantage of the synergies between the two formats…”

    The iconic department store chain said that the operation would not affect Bricor employees and workers, as both brands would remain with separate corporate identities.
