Christine Wong, formerly the international compliance head of Japan’s Fujitsu, has joined Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office as a partner in its investigations and white-collar defense group.
Wong spent the last five years at Fujitsu, where she also served as a vice president of the multinational technology and services company. Before that, she was a partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner for two years and served for seven years as an assistant US attorney in the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of California.
“Given my experience both in government and in-house, I have developed a lot of skills and a lot of experience that I think can be very helpful to the diverse base of clients that MoFo has,” said Wong, noting that she was particularly attracted to MoFo’s growing investigations and white-collar practices.
At Fujitsu, Wong oversaw global investigations, supervising large internal and external teams, MoFo said in announcing the hire. She led a number of compliance programs at the company related to anti-bribery and corruption, antitrust, and export control matters.
“Christine brings something unique to the table, which is significant experience in-house,” in addition to her government experience, said Stacey Sprenkel, head of litigation in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office.
“I think we are very focused on growing our investigations and white-collar capabilities, both in the Bay Area and globally and making sure that we are well-positioned to support our clients and all of their compliance and investigation-related needs across different compliance topics,” Sprenkel said.
