Viasat Group, an Italian company specializing in the management of computer services and fleet management for automobiles, has acquired 100% of the Spanish company Grupo Detector, provider of automotive solutions related to the Internet of Things. The transaction will allow Viasat to increase its presence in the Spanish market, reaching an estimated value of 70 million euros.
The operation, whose value has not been disclosed, also involves the integration of up to 70 professionals from Grupo Detector into Viasat’s staff.
The purchase of Grupo Detector represents the second major purchase by the Italian company in Spain, after its acquisition of a majority stake in Mobilefleet, a company specializing in telematic services for vehicle fleets, completed in 2017.
