Colombia: SIC fines Bureau Veritas and Tecnicontrol over bid-rigging violation

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce has fined Bureau Veritas Colombia and Tecnicontrol, as well as their legal representatives, after accusing them of violating free competition rules in the tender process held by Ecopetrol.

    The bidding before Ecopetrol amounted to contract of $27 billion Colombian pesos (approximately US$9.2 million) for providing services including supervision in matters of safety, occupational health and environmental consulting.
