De Godoy took over as head of Enacom a few days after the start of Mauricio Macri’s administration, when through the decree of necessity and urgency 267/2015, amendments were introduced to the country’s legislation that eliminated, among other changes, the regulatory bodies governing this industry.

During his tenure as head of Enacom, De Godoy sought to foster dialogue with different actors in the sector, as well as streamline the procedures that enable the provision of services, clearing over 10,000 files during his term. The merger authorization between Telecom and Cablevisión, which is still pending before the National Commission for the Defense of Competition, also stands out as a landmark in his administration.

De Godoy’s resignation marks the end of a ‘second stage’ in the Macri administration’s and Cambiemos party’s approach to reforming telecommunications in Argentina.
