Spain: Acciona gets CNMC go-ahead for sale of solar power assets

Spanish energy company Acciona has obtained an important commercial victory, obtaining the go-ahead from the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) to sell its portfolio of solar thermal plants, totalling more than 250 MW of production capacity and valued, last February , at around €1.12 billion (approximately US $ 1.300 billion).

    The buyer, Contour Global, is an independent power plant operator based in London, with facilities spread across 19 countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa.

    Specifically, Acciona has sold five solar power generation plants, each with 50 MW of generation capacity, distributed throughout the provinces of Badajoz, Cáceres and Córdoba.
