Chile: Prosecutor to probe concentration in shipping

Chile’s National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) has ordered a market investigation in the container shipping sector, as well as in the container terminal service, focused on the activities of Japanese shipping companies NYK, MOL and “K”Line, due to the formation of a joint venture in order to integrate their global businesses.

    Before issuing the investigation order, the Prosecutor’s Office stated that it considers that all the antecedents of the case are complete so, it is appropriate to initiate the investigation.

    In this context, the body required all the information contained in two previous investigations conducted into this market.
