Paul Evans, a former partner at leading Australian firm Freehills who spent nearly the past six years as a state solicitor for Western Australia, is joining Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to open an office for the firm in Perth.
Evans is responsible for the Australian government’s civil and regulatory legal function in the western third of the country. At Quinn Emanuel, Evans will focus on corporate law and antitrust litigation in the mining and commodities sectors.
“We have been trying to convince Paul to join us for some time. We are glad he finally did,” said John B. Quinn, the firm’s managing partner.
He will focus on corporate law and competition litigation at Quinn Emanuel, the firm said.
