US: Cravath Swaine & Moore, Linklaters, Sullivan & Cromwel and Hengeler Mueller advice on $35 billion Praxair and Linde merger

    Praxair is being represented by Sullivan & Cromwell’s corporate partners Keith Pagnani, Krishna Veeraraghavan and Carsten Berrar. Linde is being represented by Cravath Swaine & Moore’s European M&A head Richard Hall, Aaron Gruber and Len Teti (tax). On the antitrust and regulatory side, Linklaters’ partners Thomas McGrath and Brussels head Bernd Meyringare and corporate partner Maximilian Schiessl from Hengeler Mueller are also representing Linde.

    The merger was confirmed on December 20th with Praxair agreeing to purchase Linde for a price tag of $35 billion. This merger will make Praxair the biggest industrial gas giant giving it a new market value of over $65 billion. Linde is known for their technology expertise while Praxair’s reputation for being efficient will be sure to create a successful marriage of the two firms.
