The deal has been in the works for over a year, with both Sempra and Pemex pushing to get the deal approved. Sempra is actually making the purchase through Infraestructura Energetica Nova, SAB de CV, which is owned by Sempra.

The transaction is for 50% of Gasoductos de Chihuahua which includes three natural gas pipelines, an ethane pipeline, and liquid petroleum gas pipeline and storage facilities and will cost Sempra approximately $1.1 billion.
