Mexico: Antitrust investigation initiated for port services

The Investigative Authority of the Mexican Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE) announced on September 20 that it has officially started an investigation in possible monopolistic practices in port services in the states of Nayarit and Jalisco.

    COFECE made is clear that no legal breaches have yet been identified, but the Commission has 120 working days to investigate, with the possibility of extensions.

    The investigation may include on-site inspections, requests for any documents and records as well as summons of those related to the investigation.
