Russia: Vimpelcom takes control of Samara Telecom

Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has acquired 100 percent of the voting shares in regional operator Samara Telecom from Vimpelcom, the controlling shareholder of Beeline. The acquisition was carried out in order to optimise the corporate structure.

    Beeline currently owns 72.22 percent of the Samara Telecom’s equity. Russian federal competition regulator FAS earlier also cleared Beeline to acquire a 38 percent stake in its subsidiary WestBalt Telecom, as well as a 22.78 percent stake in Samara Telecom.
