Peru: Corrective measures imposed on Viva G y M

Peru’s competition authority has ordered a series of measures to be taken in benefit of the residents of Los Parques de Agustino, a residential development. The agency also set several fines on the site’s builder, Viva G y M SA, after finding it guilty of several violations of Consumer Protection laws.

    The company must pay a fine equal to 17.5 Tax Units (each equivalent to around $1,230 US) due to violations to Provider obligations, such as failing to deliver important documents, withholding important information about the project, and a general lack of quality in their products and services.

    The company will have to repair any problems and adequately complete the building and furnishing of the residential project, as well as hand over all the required documents, including the relevant permits.
