Tanzania: Fair Competition Commission on study tour in Malawi

A delegation from Tanzania’s Fair Competition Commission will be on a study tour of Malawi from April 12-18, the Malawi Competition and Fair Trading Commission announced on Thursday.CFTC executive director Charlotte Wezi Malonda said the delegation, which would comprise commissioners of the FCC, was scheduled to meet a number of local stakeholders that deal with issues of fair competition and consumer protection.

    Specifically, the FCC would meet stakeholders in the energy, telecommunications, standards setting, and financial sectors.

    “I believe that the study tour will, not only help strengthen the existing relationship between the CFTC and FCC, but it will also further enhance the spirit of cooperation in the enforcement of anti-competitive and unfair trading practices with a cross-border dimension,” Malonda said.
