The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued two infringement notices to the telco after iiNet failed to prominently state the total minimum price of its Naked Broadband 250GB plan.
Although the ads, which appeared in Melbourne in November, stated the minimum total price, the ACCC believed it was not prominently displayed. which is a contravention of the Australian consumer law.
“Consumers must be able to understand the true cost of an advertised product so that they can make informed purchasing decisions,” ACCC chair Rod Sims said.
