India: Real estate investigation coming to a close

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) finished its personal hearings regarding its investigation into 20 entities concerning unfair business practices in realty. The CCI has investigated the market several times in the past and has even fined Delhi Land & Finance, one of the largest real estate developers in India.

    The current investigation is looking into one-sided clauses favoring the sellers in buyer agreements for the sales of flats, apartments and other residential properties as well as other anti-competitive behaviour.
