In September, Toyoda Gosei North America pled guilty to conspiring to fix prices for automotive hoses, airbags and steering wheels sold to US companies. Last week, the sales general manager of Toyoda Gosei, Makoto Horie, in Japan pled guilty to fixing prices of automotive hoses
With Horie’s plea, he will have to pay a fine of $20,000 and serve one year and one day in a US prison if approved by the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
Including Mr. Horie and Toyoda Gosei, 29 people and 32 companies have admitted guilt to price fixing and have agreed to pay a cumulative $2.4 billion fine.
