Philippines: Antitrust regime to pass this month

Both the House of Representatives and the Senate have approved of the proposed legislative package that would introduce antitrust laws to the Philippines, say reports, and experts believe the bill will be completely passed by the end of the year.

    The Philippines has been working to establish a comprehensive competition law ahead of its economic integration with the ASEAN countries; the Philippines is one of several members of the ASEAN group without competition laws in place.

    Because of this, economic experts have pressed the importance of passing the legislation before the end of the year.
