US: Laser printer giant Lexmark in bidding war for Readsoft

 |  August 6, 2014

Laser printer manufacturer Lexmark has been hit with a bidding war in its efforts to acquire Swedish office service company Readsoft, say reports.

US software group Hyland increased its bid to acquire Readsoft for a second time last Monday. Its offer stood at $246.4 million.

But Lexmark announced just one day later that it increased its own bid for the company to about $248 million.

The bidding wars were first launched last May after Lexmark presented a takeover offer. The two rivals have been submitted competing bids ever since.

Lexmark announced its rival bid in a press release and said that it remains convinced that it would make a more suitable purchaser of the Swedish company.
