According to reports, The UK’s Carphone Warehouse and Dixons Retail will win unconditional approval for the transaction. The deal will join the EU’s largest independent cell phone seller with the EU’s second largest electrical retailer.

Unnamed sources said EU regulators will give the deal a pass after speaking with UK competitors last month. The Commission reportedly inquired about how the deal would affect mobile phone and tablet costs.

The Commission, which has until June 25 to rule on the merger, declined to comment.
