Geologist Dr. Joseph Langotsky, along with protestors, are reportedly advocating for a breakup of the Leviathan gas field, owned by Delek and Noble Energy, in response to a campaign that is fighting cartel compromise agreements.
According to reports, Longotsky sent a letter to Israel’s Antitrust Authority championing a breakup of the field into independent natural gas producers. According to reports, the geologist is known as the father of the nation’s offshore deep water natural gas exploration.
The expert was joined by politicians and organizations who sent a letter to the Authority’s head David Gilo demanding that Noble and Delek controlling shareholder Yitzhak Tshuva sells shares in the gas field or breaks them up into separate operations. The letter was filed with regulators by the Movement for Quality Government.
”It seems that there is no geological or engineering reason preventing the production of gas from each part of separate fields,” Langotsky wrote.
