Russia/Ukraine: Gazprom antitrust complaint complicated by political turmoil

    Reports say the European Commission is reviewing the allegations against Gazprom, which accuses the company of dominance abuse and imposing uncompetitive gas pricing in central Europe. According to Commission spokesperson Antoine Colombani, the regulator is preparing a statement of objections to the company.

    Ukraine is positioned as Gazprom’s supply route that fives about 16 percent of Europe’s gas supply.

    Gazprom claims Ukraine owes the company $2 billion as Russia seized control of Crimea. The EU has urged Russia to stand down.
