French airline Air France and Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes have announced plans for a long-term strategic partnership in a joint venture that will boost commercial cooperation between the EU and Brazil, say reports.
The venture reportedly includes codesharing and joint sales initiatives.
According to reports, the joint venture follows the success of GOL’s partnership with Delta airlines, the latter of which is Air France’s main partner.
Financially, the agreement involves a $10 million investment by Air France into the Brazilian low-cost carrier.
