Israel: LCD price-fixing scandal comes back to haunt defendants

The makers of LCD monitor screens are now facing a class action in Israel for their participation in a price-fixing cartel, a case that has haunted the companies since US regulators first uncovered the collusion in 2006.

    Consumer group Hatzlacha has reportedly filed a class action on behalf of consumers in Israel, naming five LCD makers as defendants. The lawsuit was filed at the end of last month and is now seeking class certification, as well as damages resulting from the price-fixing.

    The scandal affected nations throughout the globe and resulted in the most wide-spread cartel uncovered to date.
