Following an investigation by regulator ACM into the Netherlands’ top telecommunications operators, reports say the firms have been cleared of allegations of forming a price-fixing cartel.
The probe, which lasted two years, looked at KNP, T-Mobile and Vodafone after the ACM received complaints in 2011 that the companies colluded to fix smartphone subscription prices.
While the companies have been found not guilty of the alleged collusion, authorities did warn the three against such public statements regarding pricing in the future, saying that competitors may take note of the announced pricing policy, which “could lead to collusive behavior,” according to the ACM.
