New reforms coming to Jamaica’s banking sector will include a code of conduct to ensure strong competition in the industry, say reports.
The reforms, drafted by the Bank of Jamaica and set to head to Parliament in the coming months, will be included in new legislation that amends the current Banking Act.
According to the BOJ, the code of conduct will aim to protect consumers but, most import, will ensure that the banks operate in the competitive environment of a market system.
